Power Moves: Diverse Workshops to Upgrade You and Your Organization
On the July 11 OneRouge call, the community kicked off “Power Moves,” a summer series focused on personal and organizational growth. This month is all about sharpening our tools—whether it’s how we show up in the world, how we lead our teams, or how we tell our stories. Kicking things off was Samantha Morgan of Quick Flip Media, who led an energizing session on the power of storytelling in today’s digital world. She reminded us that everything we do—whether behind a desk, at an event, or in the field—is worth documenting. From quick videos to simple photos, these everyday moments help bring our missions to life, connect with our communities, and make a stronger case for support. Samantha encouraged everyone to rethink how they use their phones, websites, and social media not just as marketing tools, but as storytelling engines that can build trust, visibility, and momentum.

Key Takeaways:
Document Everything: Photos, videos, and written content are essential for storytelling, grants, community buy-in, and historical memory.
Content Has Value:
Helps with fundraising and reporting.
Builds trust and transparency with audiences.
Empowers community members by showcasing their involvement.
Where to Post:
Websites should not be neglected—this is owned space where organizations have full control.
Social media platforms are algorithm-driven and change constantly. Relationships with your audience matter more than ever.
Video content now has the highest engagement across all major platforms (TikTok, Instagram Reels, Facebook, YouTube).
Tips for Busy People:
Record with your phone, even if you don’t post immediately.
Use simple equipment (tripod + mic) to capture presentations or events.
Save content for future use—even 10 years down the road.
Engagement Matters:
Don’t just post—comment, like, and build relationships.
Social media should be a conversation, not a broadcast.
Handling Public vs. Private Presence:
Personal social media reflects on your organization.
Private pages aren’t truly private—use discretion.
Leaders should evaluate whether their personal social aligns with organizational values.
